A compact storage solution was required for long, awkward and oversized materials that could not be stored effectively on standard shelving. This was clogging up large parts of their operation and having efficiency impacts to the rest of their operation.
The project involved supplying and installing a single-sided cantilever racking system, providing strong, open-front storage while keeping materials easy to access.

The Challenge
The client needed a safe and organised way to store long materials within a limited area.
Standard shelving was not the most suitable option, as the items being stored required clear horizontal support and open access from the front. The solution needed to provide strong load capacity while keeping the floor area tidy and practical for day-to-day use.
The installation also needed to be completed efficiently, with minimal disruption to the client’s working environment.
The Solution
UK Shelving supplied and installed a single-sided cantilever racking system designed for the client’s storage requirements.
The installation included three 3.6m-high uprights, set at 1200mm frame centres. Each upright was fitted with five bolted arms, with each arm measuring 1000mm long and offering a maximum load capacity of 350kg.
The cantilever system was built on site, checked for stability throughout the installation and bolted down as the structure was completed. Its open-front design allows long materials to be stored neatly across the arms while remaining easy to load, remove and organise.
Once the installation was complete, the area was cleared and the system was handed over ready for use.
