Manufactured for demanding commercial environments, this is a flexible storage solution which is easy to install and assemble. The boltless design and adjustable shelving levels make it suitable for businesses looking to maximise storage capacity while maintaining efficient stock access.
The boltless construction system allows for quick and efficient assembly with minimal tools required. Pre-assembled frames with feet are supplied ready for installation, and our team can help assemble this unit for your business.
The adjustable shelf system allows businesses to adapt storage layouts as stock requirements change. Shelves can also be configured to span over ground-stored goods or pallets, meaning a bottom shelf level is not always necessary.
Designed for scalability, the system can be expanded with a longspan extension bay, add-ons, and bespoke configurations to suit evolving storage operations.

Size Options & Adjustability
At UK Shelving, our longspan shelving systems are fully adjustable in 50mm increments, allowing businesses to configure shelf heights around their specific use cases. These are easily changeable, meaning that as stock items change, the shelves can be easily adjusted to accommodate this.
A wide range of bay sizes are available alongside the ability to purchase extension bays, and add-on configurations.
Compliance
Manufactured and tested to the latest FEM standards, our longspan shelving systems are engineered to meet professional warehouse safety and performance requirements. Our units have a robust steel construction and are supplied with locking pins that provide additional stability for busy environments.
Full details on weight loading can be seen in the weight loading tables in our downloads section.
Weight capacity depends on multiple things on your racking layout such as
– Height to the top of the first beam
– Level type (heavy duty or extra heavy duty)
– Bay size (including level length and depth).
Extra Heavy Duty options provide chipboard supports to enhance the weight loadings on 900mm and 1200mm deep options. Other depths the wight capacity remains the same.
Chipboard shelves are ideal for general dry storage and provide a smooth strong surface for everyday items.
Galvanised shelves are suitable for damp or cold conditions and can be wiped clean if you are storing spillable goods.
Yes, you can buy extra components to extend or adjust your longspan shelving.
Additional levels can be added at any time and are fully adjustable in 50 mm increments, allowing you to change the height to suit your storage needs.
Frames are supplied pre built and can be used to create new bays that connect to your existing system.
You can also purchase beams individually, along with D bar dividers for vertical storage, giving you plenty of flexibility to expand or reconfigure your setup.
When planning your space, remember that the beam length shown on the site is the clear internal opening. Once you add the frames, the total bay width increases by 50mm per frame. So a bay’s true width is the beam length plus the extra frame allowance. Measure your space first to ensure the full bay width will fit comfortably.
If you are purchasing multiple bays then you will need to consider that where bays are joined they will be sharing a frame, So be sure to only account for one lot of 50mm every time a frame is joined.
The Product Builder allows you to create a full run of longspan shelving, from a single bay up to five connected bays, all with your chosen sizes and number of levels.
The Add on section is for buying individual extension bays only. These come with one frame and are designed to attach to an existing run.
So use the Product Builder to plan a complete run of up to five bays, and use the Add on section when you want to add extra bays later.
The system is free standing and sturdy but can be fixed to the floor if needed. Assembly is quick because the frames arrive built and you simply slot in the beams and chipboard, though we recommend two people.
Load notices and regular racking inspections are required for safety and legal compliance, helping prevent overloading, collapse, and injury while meeting HSE and SEMA standards.
To keep your shelving safe, install it correctly, stay within load limits, inspect it regularly, repair damage quickly, and keep the area clean and tidy.
Mecalux shelving is not compatible with other manufacturers and should only be used with matching components.
